First Timers is a series of free workshops/community gathering that introduces different forms and techniques of artmaking to different underserved communities, with gatherings occurring at James Black Gallery for 4 sessions. Focusing on community building and reducing barriers, the project is geared towards underserved communities, including BIPOC, neurodivergent, and immigrant folks who otherwise would not have access to these events. More than 30+ participants joined us for the 4 workshops happening in Oct 2025 at James Black Gallery.
