As I think of you at the end of a dream, at the end of a lifetime.

Kingsway Street, Vancouver is a site filled with stories - of Indigenous history, of immigration journeys, of community gathering spaces. As time goes by, gentrification processes threaten the loss of these histories - both the collective and the personal.
How do we remember, how do we ground ourselves, when the landscape offers guidance no more?
A construction site is a space of flux - one that has yet become, one that contains potentialities. Translating and fabulating three different photographs of an unfinished construction site on Kingsway Street, Vancouver, through printing, scanning, tearing, and layering, the piece anchors in the impermanence of the space through processes of destruction and reconstruction.
The haptic, jostling displacement within the images serves as a metallurgist effort to resist the continual deterioration and disappearance of the memory and history embedded within, or even, to paint new hopes and new beginnings.
